The NEW, Religious Education Part 1 is an Additional Qualification (AQ) course designed to promote the professional growth and religious literacy of teachers in accordance with the Ontario College of Teachers.
This course is for teachers who will teach in the English language Catholic school boards in Ontario. It is open to all elementary and secondary school teachers who have a basic qualification in general studies or technological studies.
Candidates will explore their ongoing commitment to religious formation and learning, and how to build inclusive and equitable communities grounded in the faith of the Church. This course will extend the depth and scope of your understanding of scripture, liturgy, the spiritual life, the nature of the sacraments, the fundamentals of ethics, history, and Catholic pedagogical practice.
