Orientation

Orientation fosters community connections for a smooth transition.

At Niagara University, orientation occurs at the start of the Spring (January) and Fall (August) terms. Orientation typically takes place the week before classes begin, and provides students with an opportunity to connect with their peers, familiarize themselves with academic program details, and learn about the support services offered within our community!

Learning Outcomes:

  • To equip students with essential information and resources to make informed academic decisions and promote healthy social behaviours.
  • To foster a welcoming environment that cultivates a strong sense of community among incoming students, facilitating connections with faculty, staff, peers and the broader community.
  • To establish a framework for academic, personal, and professional success throughout their University journey, both within and beyond the classroom setting.

Registration for the Spring 2025 Pre-orientation sessions and the official Orientation week will commence in September. Incoming students are strongly encouraged to monitor their Niagara email accounts for more information.

Pre-Orientation Information

Note:

  • Newcomer Students are those who have lived in Canada for a short period of time and can include Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents.
  • International Students are those who require a study permit to pursue education in a country other than their home country.
