Niagara University remains vigilant in promoting healthy sanitation habits like hand washing, masking, and social distancing, while strictly adhering to established protocols.
The Forward Niagara committee diligently follows guidelines from Health Canada, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Ontario’s Ministry of Health, and York Region Public Health to prevent COVID-19 transmission. Additionally, we continuously monitor and respond to campus and community situations to ensure a safe environment for all.
COVID-19 vaccines are proven to be a safe and effective way to train our immune system to combat the virus. With high efficacy in preventing severe illness, hospitalizations, and fatalities, vaccination is crucial in slowing the spread of SARS-CoV-2 (the virus which causes COVID-19).
While proof of vaccination is not mandatory for students, faculty, and staff at Niagara University in Ontario, it is strongly encouraged to keep vaccinations up to date.
Please note: external partners, such as school districts, healthcare entities, and provincial facilities, may require COVID-19 vaccination for entry or participation in programs.
At Niagara University, masks are optional for both indoor and outdoor settings on campus, giving individuals the freedom to choose based on their preference. However, mandatory masking requirements may be reinstated at short notice in accordance with public health guidelines. Disposable surgical masks may be available at the front desk reception for convenience.
Please note: Students in the Bachelor of Professional Education program are strongly encouraged to wear a mask on campus to minimize the risk of classroom placement disruptions due to COVID-19 exposure.
For your own health and out of the respect of others, if you feel unwell, please do not come to campus. If you are on campus, please leave as soon as possible.
