Newcomer & Family Support

Niagara University acknowledges the challenges that newcomers may encounter when adjusting to a new environment. Through our Student Services, we provide guidance on immigration procedures, housing options, healthcare services, cultural adaptation, and more. Whether you’re a new student navigating campus life or a family member supporting a loved one’s educational journey, rest assured, we’re here to assist you every step of the way.

Who is a Newcomer Student?

Newcomer Students are those who have lived in Canada for a short period of time and can include Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents.

International Students are those who require a study permit to pursue education in a country other than their home country.

Note: While all international students may be newcomers to Canada, Niagara University acknowledges that not all newcomers may be international students.

Our Newcomer & Family Support program provides essential services and resources to facilitate a seamless transition to life at Niagara University and within the surrounding community for all newcomer students and their families.

Canadian Immigration Support

Student Services provides comprehensive Canadian immigration support services to assist current students with navigating the complexities of immigration applications, and procedures as outlined by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
