1. Proof of a baccalaureate degree (both 3-year and 4-year baccalaureate degrees are accepted)

We require evidence of successful completion or pending completion of a baccalaureate degree through the submission of official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities. At least one of these transcripts must indicate the awarding of an accredited undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0 using a 4.0-point scale, or a B average if letter grades were used.

If you have not yet graduated and/or your degree has not been conferred (i.e., you are in your final year), submit your ‘official transcripts in progress’ along with an ‘in-progress letter’ to our Program Intake Assistant at the below address.

Applicants who have not received their degree from a Canadian or US institution refer to the Applicants with International Degrees section below.

Official transcripts (electronic or mailed in a sealed envelope) of all colleges and universities attended must be sent directly from their granting institutions to:

2. Two References – Online

Two references (academic, professional and/or volunteer). *After submitting your online application, you will be able to directly email your references to request a recommendation.

3. Statement of Intent – Online

Two-page, double-spaced, typewritten statement discussing your academic and/or research background, your career goals, your personal philosophy related to your area of study, and how Niagara University’s graduate program will prepare you to meet your career and educational objectives (Please include your name, program of interest, and anticipated entry term in the header of the document).

4. Resume and/or Experience Profile – Online

  • Resume and/or experience profile including all professional experiences relating to the intended field of study.

International Applicants

Please note that this program is not included in the university DLI designation and as such is not eligible to accept international students who will require a Study Permit.

Applicants with International Degrees

Together with the standard application requirements above, applicants to Niagara University’s Ontario programs who have not received their degree from a Canadian or US institution must submit the following items:

  • In the case where degrees were completed internationally, an international evaluation of the degree such as a WESTEC, or CES must accompany the application.
  • Submit evidence of English Language Proficiency scores from TOEFL or IELTS.

Applicants must request WES or SPANTRAN and TOEFL or IELTS to send hard copies or electronic copies of their official evaluations DIRECTLY to:

Alternative Pathway: NUO offers English for Academic Purposes (EAP) pathways exclusively through ILSC. Only official Pathway Letters of Acceptance from these two schools can provide conditional acceptance for English Language Proficiency.
