Pre-Orientation Information

Pre-orientation programming serves as a transitional phase for new students, offering essential guidance and resources before the official orientation week. Pre-orientation programming will be held virtually, unless otherwise stated.

Note:

  • Newcomer Students are those who have lived in Canada for a short period of time and can include Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents.
  • International Students are those who require a study permit to pursue education in a country other than their home country.

Immigration Insights: Study Permit (Outside Canada) Applications – September 24, 2025 | 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

  • This session is for International students. Students will gain vital insights into the study permit application process outside Canada and engage in a Q&A session with our in-house regulated Canadian immigration consultant (RCIC).

Housing 101- October 8, 2025 | 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

  • Join us for an information session with a local real estate agent, and a representative from the Canada Homestay Network to understand the ins and outs of securing accommodation for you and your family throughout your academic journey.

Academic Supports – October 22, 2025 | 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

  • Students will discover the array of academic resources at their disposal and will opportunity to connect with their academic advisors.

Health & Wellness – November 19, 2025 | 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

  • Students will connect with Niagara’s Health Coverage partners Morcare and We Speak Student to learn more about benefits options for themselves and their dependents.
  • Students will also have an opportunity to learn about the Recreational services and supports available to Niagara University students at our local community YMCA.

Life at Niagara – December 3, 2025  | 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

  • Students will have the opportunity to connect with current students, staff, and alumni to gain invaluable insights into life at Niagara University and in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
