Career Services hosts more than 300 employers on campus annually in a variety of capacities. Employers attend industry-specific career events, facilitate practice interviews through the Employer in Residence program, presentation sessions, and facilitate workshop sessions.
Just the facts:
The mission of Career Services is to provide students with the best possible assistance in developing and achieving their career objectives. Career Services helps to prepare students for internships, employment, through the Pathways Program, Alumni Career Network, skills-based workshops, events, and employer connections.
The Pathways program is a holistic approach to professional development that builds confidence through experiential learning, resume preparation, mock interviewing, internship placement, and more. Students work closely with career advisors to learn how to connect their unique skills to their postgraduate goals. Pathways also leverages university resources and alumni connections to prepare students to develop the professional competencies needed to compete in a global economy.
Last academic year, Career Services implemented a new career management system known as Handshake: The Get Hired Portal. Handshake provides students a platform to build a profile that is visible to employers, enables them to search and apply for internships and employment opportunities, register to attend events, and interact with students, alumni, and employers. Since implementing this platform, the number of internship postings has tripled and the employer reach across the country and internationally is far greater than before.
Career Services believes that collaboration is one of the keys to the success of our students; we value partnerships and welcome the opportunity to connect with other companies for career-related opportunities.
